Compliance & Regulatory Framework

The regulations governing your surgery equipment β€” and how Dentrician builds the evidence your CQC inspector expects to see, continuously.

The regulations

The framework governing your surgery

Dental practices operate under a web of statutory and professional standards. Dentrician's visits produce evidence that satisfies all of them β€” continuously.

HTM 01-05

Health Technical Memorandum on Decontamination in Primary Care Dental Practices. Governs dental unit waterlines, water quality, instrument processing and planned maintenance β€” mandatory for all GDS and PDS contract holders.

CQC Regulation 15 & 12

Premises and equipment must be suitable, properly maintained and safe for clinical use. Both require documented evidence of servicing and functionality β€” inspectors will ask for this file.

PSSR 2000

Your air compressor pressure vessel requires a Written Scheme of Examination and formal periodic inspection β€” a legal requirement under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000.

BS 7671 / EICR / PAT

Wiring regulations and periodic electrical testing. Fixed-wire EICR and PAT certificates are expected by CQC inspectors as evidence of electrical safety compliance.

ISO 8573-1 Class 0

International standard for compressed air purity. Class 0 certification ensures air delivered to patients and instruments is free from oil, moisture and particulate contamination.

Environment Agency / COSHH

Amalgam separator compliance under EA regulations prevents mercury discharge to drainage. COSHH requirements govern the handling and disposal of all dental waste.
